Internship Ilfa Siebenhaar

During my internship at Studio Ilfa Siebenhaar, I gained valuable experience in both management and textile design, as it is a one-person business.

Ilfa Siebenhaar is driven by a passion for addressing environmental degradation and social inequality in the fashion industry. Drawing from fashion and science, she develops innovative circular design practices to push for change.

At Studio Ilfa Siebenhaar, we challenge conventional ideas and explore future scenarios and solutions in material and bio-design for the fashion industry.

During my internship, I was assigned a final project to digitally recreate Ilfa's work. Since she often paints with bacteria, I wanted to better showcase that unique process for her audience.

I created a digital Petri dish where you can see the bacteria growing, and incorporated the dyed fabric into the scene.

I also experimented with various fabric types and colors she was interested in, while exploring different patterns of bacterial growth and fungi.
